Elite Sports Art Gallery specializes in "one of a kind" hand painted portraits on canvas and leather [©+pat. pend.]. Elite Sports Art Gallery has been producing museum quality art work since 1996 for museums, galleries, ball clubs, corporations, restaurants, and private collectors.  Since our inception we have received over whelming responses regarding our life like portraits.  Players and clients alike have shared their personal reactions and comments with us, with all of them proclaiming:  "It's the most impressive art work they have ever seen."

Realizing a common interest and goals, Gary and Karen embarked upon their first project featuring the likeness of Yankee hero "Joseph Paul DiMaggio" [The Yankee Clipper].  Together, Gary and Karen worked on conceptual designs for real home plates and large leather plaques.  Karen working in acrylics, painstakingly hand painted Joe's portrait on a series of home plates and leather plaques.  Each home plate is different and includes an 18K gold border listing Joe's lifetime statistics.

In addition to the home plates, Elite Sports Art Gallery also manufacturers incredible leather plaques on which Karen hand paints color or black and white portraits.   The construction of each plaque begins with the purchasing of the highest quality leather available on the market today.  Gary personally inspects and purchases every piece of leather himself. 

Back at the gallery, the construction of the plaques begins with the layout of the suede stitching.  The stitching on the leather takes approximately 4 to 6 hours, depending upon size of the plaques.  All work is done by hand, NO mechanical devices are used in the manufacturing of the leather plaques.  Once the stitching is completed, the leather is now ready to be stretched over the frame.  After the leather has been stretched for several days, it is now ready to be cut and fastened onto the frame.  This last step is completed in about 5 hours.  The sizes of the plaques range from 24" to 40" in diameter.  Our exclusive top of the line plaques include hand embroidery of the players name and statistics.  This is a copy-righted process with a patent-pending because of it's uniqueness.

Elite Sports Art Gallery produces one of a kind custom hand painted leather jackets.  We can make any color combination with any team player or logo.  These photos will give you an idea of what we can create using different players of your choice no matter what the sport.  We will do ANY SPORTS figure and color combination of any team in any sport of your choice on plaques, plates or jackets...leather, canvas etc.

Upon viewing several art pieces Gary and Karen had created, the director of the Ted Williams Museum {Arthur "Buzzy" Hamon] requested to display several of the pieces at the museum.  There are currently two hand-painted home plates on display and Elite Sports Art Gallery has also agreed to loan one of there large leather plaques to the museum in the near future.  Joe DiMaggio and his attorney acknowledge Elite Sports Art Gallery's art work as some of the finest they have ever seen.  Joe Di'Maggio has been kind enough to sign some of our portrait plaques before passing away.

Most of Elite Sports Art Gallery  pieces are hanging in museums or in private collections.  Some can be viewed in the Ted Williams museum in Hernando, Florida,  the Yogi Berra Museum at the Montclair State University, Montclair, New Jersey, and the Yankee locker room in Yankee Stadium in New York City, New York.
